One of the greatest joys of living at Christwood is the sense of belonging that residents feel from the time they arrive. Resident Bill Herdrich sums up his reaction to Christwood beautifully: "I saw a glimpse of my future and I liked what I saw."
Here is what other residents have to say about their experiences at Christwood:
Elmire Johns
What impressed Elmire Johns most about Christwood? "For one thing, the friendliness of the staff — in every area. They're all just wonderful," she says. Secondly, she says, "It's pretty ... a relaxed and peaceful place."
Although each Christwood apartment and cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, residents can enjoy a delightful gourmet meal in the casually elegant dining room. "There are so many choices, including southern specialties — and they're very accommodating if you have specific dietary needs," says Elmire. "Plus, the servers learn your name so quickly it's remarkable! It's just one of the ways they take an interest in you and make you feel at home."
Don Lindquist
"We were looking to the future when we chose Christwood. The community has a high level of recognition, especially in the New Orleans area. Since moving here, we have enjoyed the friendliness of our neighbors and the ease with which you can meet people — especially at lunch and dinner when people gather together. Plus, with so many activities to choose from, we can remain active and independent."
Etheldra Scoggins
"What has surprised me is how remarkably enriched and expanded my life has become. The residents of Christwood are an interesting, talented group from many varied backgrounds. It has been a real lift to make new friends. We play Bridge, garden, exercise and picnic together. Joining different groups has helped me renew old interests and develop new ones."
